Default '87 RR 20v???

Just seen this on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AUDI-UR-QUATTR...d=p3286.c0.m14

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the RR 20V was released in 1990?! Apparently the VIN number on the log book and chassis match, sounds really dodgy to me, along with his whole description!

Yep, real RR's are from late 1989 (1990 model year). This one looks to be a conversion or possibly a re-shell.
Looks a proper p.o.s. though either way!

Could it not simple just have been an honest conversion & pimped paint job by a previous owner?. (all be it a crappy spray job judging by the lacquer flakes.)

or am i seeing it through rose tinted glasses?

The shat some people try to pass off as good / original. It's clearly a put together job and a crap colour with dodgy cag filled quarters. Have you ever seen holes there before. Looks to me like it's just been dragged out of a barn somewhere, he hasn't even washed it properly.
