Default Correct Plugs?

My local factors struggle to provide me with the correct service parts, I have to do my homework and know exactly what I require for eg they would have sent me away with a dizzy cap and rotor arm for a late 1984 80Sport and mine is the early 84 DZ engine. Air filter provided was a circular sit on top of the engine jobby!!

Anyhow I just want assurance that the plugs i have fitted are suitable 'NGK BUR6ET'. The replacemenmt dizzy cap and arm has improved the starting no end, it always started ok(ish) when cold burt when warm quite hesitant and now it's on the button regardless. However, she is still a bit lumpy on idle so it going into my friendly local garage for a timing check and mixture set up, the plugs indicate a weak mixture.

Cheers,
Jon

NGK lists their version of the 101 000 006AB as BP6ESZ.

Sweet, thanks. I had a third attempt at installing a new air filter this evening, after half an hour of knuckle shredding my eureka momewnt was when I realised how easy it is to remove the main obstacle, ie the air intake cone that attaches with two screws and once removed the filter top lifts away easily. Learning! I also connected a new intake hose whilst I was in the area, a 70mm metal heat resistant item without any holes in it.

Thanks I will make a note of suitable plugs but i does seem as if my supplier has provided me correctly. Steering on full lock slow speed a nasty knock/clunk as you pull away, any ideas? Finally while I'm picking brains I'm intending to replace my tyres as despite a recent MOT I'm not happy with the perishing and cracking on the sidewalls due to the car being stood in a garage for eons. What size do you guys run? I fancy a wider tyre than my standard ones.

Thank you all
Jon

Hi Jon,

I have the same knocking and have not found it yet, I have not worried about it for years but must admit I would like to know what it is.

Good luck in the hunt.

You could go one up and fit the 195 60 14's that way you will have more grip, but you will notice the steering a tad heavier...unless you have power steering
