I've had several run-ins with Vodafone over the last few weeks. Thanks to a very helpful crew at the Crystal Peaks Vodafone shop, everything got sorted out pretty efficiently - but I think their IT applications could do with some serious reviews.

It started when the Nexus decided not to display any pub web sites. As you might imagine with my particular activities, this has a significant impact on my social life - I couldn't get any of the gig lists to display. So I got Vodafone's "Content Control" page instead. Their workaround didn't, so I went to the shop where they fiddled around on their system and got it lifted.

Then just after midnight yesterday morning it decided my web package had expired. Fine - I had earmarked £5 in the Bonus Bank for this purpose and sent the usual string of 'redeem 5' and 'web1' to sort it out.

No, says the system, you don't have anything in the bonus bank and your calling credit is insufficient to activate a web package. Well, I have a clear string of text messages from 2345 telling me this is bollocks. So back to the shop. It turned out the original fix was to delete and reinstate the account - which lost the £5.

Anyway, all is now reinstated and awaiting the next cockup.
