How are u going to connect 1.8 20vt wiring loom, if u are planning to leave some part of NG/KV wiring loom?
Oil pressure and oil temp gauges are connected to sensors with two wires, which are seperate from engine wiring loom.

So how are u going to connect 1.8 20vt wiring loom to onboard electrosystem? Are u going to install A4 fusebox? That wiring loom can't be connected to existing B3 fusebox without resoldering a lot of connectors, and if u will do that, u won't need a single piece from original loom. But if u will keep something as u are saying, u will create electrical nightmare under bonnet and under dash Finally, all wires u need are already in that 20v wiring loom, only needs proper connectors.

And btw, with 1.8 20vt stock ecu B3 A90 tacho will not work correctly - not only because A90 tacho is for 5 pots but u have 4, but also because that ecu gives to tacho one pulse per two crankshaft revolutions, while B3 ecu one pulse for every spark - that's 5x more and tacho will show 5x less rews.
P.S. If u are not in a hurry, I'll find that schematics for u in couple days.

i'be chopped the original aeb harness up to remove alot of the wires that are not needed, and also remove the hard rubber covering that would have looked crap in the 90 engine bay. and after joining all the wires back up i'm left with only a handful of wires that need connecting, ign live, permenant live, earth and a few more. o quite simple really. i've got lots of clocks lying about, 4 and 5 cylinder so maybe 1 will work, my mate put a 1.8t into an a reg 80 and his rev counter worked no problem?? schematics would be great. cheers

Take a look at these S2 diagrams most of the clock wiring is very similar

Dunno how your mate did that, I know one guy who installed 1.8 20vt into he's 1985 [maybe 1984, but that doesn't matters] typ85 A80 GTE quattro, tacho, of course, indicated 4x less revs. Probably he's done with that, since that was long time ago, he planned to use four diodes to get signals from all ignition coils. whatever.
If schematics are still needed, here u go -> http://www.autolib.diakom.ru/CAR/Aud...NG%20DIAGRAMS/
