I'm after a set of front and rear wishbones for my coupe quattro.
I'm not after a set with good bushes, as new ones aren't too expensive.. What I'M looking for is perhaps an old set that someone might have replaced with new ones, and would otherwise go in the bin. So long as the metal is okish, with no damage or cracks or anything, then i'd really like to save them from the skip. What I'll be doing is rubbing them down, painting them up, and taking the old knacked rubber bushes out of them and re fitting them with these super flex polly bushes i've had waiting in the wings since last year, when I crashed the car they were 'originally' intended for. ![]() Best part of £200 they cost me , so about time i fitted them to something. ![]() |

Trouble is Gaz, is that most people replace them because they need replacing. The metal around the ends of the bushes is what just gently corrodes away as well as the main body of the wishbone.. Then they start to open out, slightly but they do. If you were accepting a set of 'old'ones of someone then seriously get them checked before using them.

IIRC (simmo will confirm) you can get new ones with bushes from GSF for £36 each?

![]() the bushes were so bad on my old car, that when the wishbone was removed, the rubber bush & metal center just 'dropped out' on to the floor . ![]() Thats the kind of wishbone's i'm after.. where the rubber bushes have deteriorated. |
