In a muddle!

I dont want to have to do it, but......if anyone has an 86 coupe quattro that is being broken, can you let me know please? Because the sunroof in mine is not fixable and I am unlikely to find one to fill the space as its an aftermarket one, I may have to replace the whole roof! That is unless anyone knows somewhere that can make bespoke ones? I can live in hope I guess!

I had an Opel Manta a few years back which had a factory sunroof, but due to rust on the roof it was replaced with a larger aftermarket one. Maybe you could try the same approach?

Thanks, I did look on that site and have been considering a larger one. Its difficult as the car is stripped ready for a respray so cant take it for people to look at, and hubby says there an issue with the edging or something. Sorry but thats a mechanic talking so I dont really get that bit!! I will contact Webasco and see what they say.

I suppose as well it depends if you actually want a sunroof! Big job to replace the roof-skin and awkward to send/package/transport a 2nd hand one?

Fill it in and get a non sunroof headlining?!

The sunroofs on the CQ and UR are, purely in my opinion, next to useless. I have never used my tilt function and whilst it'd be nice to have it open there's no way I'd faff around to unhook it, lift it over the roof and put it in the boot only to have to do the reverse at the first sniff of moisture - lotta paintwork risk! lol

I would say see if you can find a manual one put it in they last longer.

Hmm, weighing up all options at the mo and trying to find the easiest but best solution. I cant say I'm bothered about a sunroof, its just that the car came with one and I was trying to keep it as close as possible to how it was when I got it. Now I know its not original, the decision may be easier!

The powere stuff is nice but it dose were out a lot sooner bolth my rear Windows dont work and finding moters has not been easy
