Default The best back to black...EVER!

If you are looking for the best back to black, it's made by Sonax and I know it's available from Vauxhall dealerships, usually costs about a fiver.

This isn't the cheap s**t you can buy that lasts about a day! It's jet black, basically like black paint so try not to get it on your hands or on the bodywork because it can be hard to get off! You can remove it with a bit of tar removal/petrol on a cloth. It'll last and look good for about a year!

I'm gonna give that a go.
I use Black Wow at the moment. It's a new fangled product from the States.
No silicones like Back to Black but seems greasy and only lasts about 4-6 weeks and at £14 for a small bottle, it's definately not cheap.

One of the lads I work with has a Mitsubishi FTO and was told to use LINSEED OIL on the black bits. Gotta admit it looked bloody good so am off to buy a small bottle to try. Admittedly he is like me and doesn't take the car out in the wet ('cept when Coxy said the kettle was on lol) so not sure how it stands up to the good 'ol British weather.

Other way is applying heat and making the plastic "bleed"
A heat gun or even a hair dryer over greying bumpers will bring them back to black and looking good again!

Peanut butters no good. I'd be arrested for some perverssion as I'd be caught licking it off the bumpers etc

Yes, heating bumpers up can work well! I did that for my sister's Polo Coupe. That back to black is definitely the best I've come across so far. They will be literally jet black though, so if you want the original grey-ish/black look I wouldn't put it on!

Best stuff i've found, thats not harmful to paint or smelly etc is the Autoglym Bumper Care. Its a green gel and brings plastics back great. Works on tyres and all rubber bits too. Use it on coolant, fuel, and vacumm hoses in the engine bay too. 1 bottle lasts about two years!

It also does not last that long when out in everyday elements, it does make plastic look nice initially unless the bumpers are faded, then you get a nice shiney grey bumper instead of a nice shiney black bumper.

We found it streaked in the wet weather too, if you applied it to door mirrors it leaves a nice oily streak on the doors after a few days.

Its not really a back to black product, more of a black enhancement product. If you are trying to get something black look shiney then this is good, as you say under the bonnet it works well enough.
