Default Gen Hunt piss take

Just watched The Impressionists on beeb 1, funny sketch on Gene Hunt, the flat fronted Mars Red quattro had the registration JLY???Y, was that the same as in the Ashes to Ashes ?

In Ashes to Ashes it was JLY---V.Its actually off a Datsun Sunny.Do i sound like Mr Lunt?

In the first three seasons of The Professionals. they used to put blag plates on the cars, so the first Stratos Silver 3.0S was actually VHK +++S, then COO 251T, but in the programme was UOO 303T. Cowley's Jupiter Red Granada 2.8i Ghia was VHK +++S and FEV 24T, but wore the plates YHJ +++T. All Essex plates, a bit like Audis having NH, NV,RP ,VV or RP plates.
