Hello everyone, as the title suggest I’m currently thinking of buying a navigation system for my Audi A4 2004. Unfortunately I can’t make a decision wherever to buy RNS-E or Aftermarket RNS-E, I heard that the aftermarket version has much more functions etc. but is it worth it? Maybe someone with more experience could give me advice and tell me the advantages and disadvantages compared with each other.
Thanks in Advance John Morgan |

Not sure if I understand what you mean?
Unless you buy from Audi.... at huge cost and probably only exchange (??) what you are going to get is 'aftermarket' but I wasn't aware that there were any real differences. This is possibly not the best site to ask the question.... yes we do own newer Audis but most of us here are tinkering with much older cars !! where are you based ? |

Just buy an A-Z!
or read road signs! life was so much simpler before sat navs and mobiles! Long gone are the days where people actually paid attention to the road and looked at the cars in front and the road signs, instead there whole life is mapped out before them on a 3" screen!! sorry, don't like sat navs! as you were! |

my Wife phoned me last night saying that her sat-nav was "taking her in a strange direction to Taunton"
I had to remind her that she was a creature of free will and didn't have to obey the machine. Its only me that cant think for himself anymore |

I'd have him!!!
![]() He's my mate and we work very closly with our companies! The Audi RNS-E is the later system that accepts memory cards etc and is great and will work in your car but may be a slightly poor fit in the dash and plastics wrong shade of grey but a opular upgrade. Ben (SHark Ben) is a Dension dealer too and he can offer systems that are even better. |

Got to agree with Coxy, look at a map before you set out, if necessary jot down the main roads/points etc for your journey.
Will admit sat nav is gret in built up areas if you are a stranger, however we shall soon have 75% of the population that has no idea where places are in relationship to each other........ ![]() |
