Default how to remove aux guages in a coupe

hey folks,

im almost done with all the small annoyin bits with the coupe, i think i might have a slight touch of ocd....... things like a small bulb not working really annoy me. any way i have eplaced the one in the dash that was out, sorted out the horn that wasnt working because of the change of steering wheel and replaced the bulbs in the heater controls as there was onlyone working but i have a bulb out on one of the aux guages that has to get done, i cant suffer it any more but dont know how to get into them

can any one help before i end up blanking it off with black tape lol

thanks

what about removing the gear stick surround and see if there are any hidden screws under there behind the ashtray?

or crow bar it

I thought you had got hold of a manual for that car?

I saw an article about this some time ago and will do my best to find it, I think it was on Audifans. seemed quite complicated, though.

Actually there isn't anything complicated
Remove that little plastic part which covers gap between gauges and center console - to do that, u have to remove cover of heater switches - pull all three knobs off, unscrew two screws, when cover is off, u will see two screws that holds that plastic piece in place. Next unscrew 13mm nut under rear ashtray and 8mm bolt which is under that little plastic cover next to handbrake. Remove gearstick knob, pull rearmost part [that one which is around handbrake] of center console a little bit rearwards, , switch in 4th gear, so gearstick is pointed to rear, pull gearstick's cover off, then pull that piece of center console up and away. When putting it back, be careful with clamps that holds it against dashboard.
It was, of course, for car equipped with heater/air con and MT, don't know anything about climate control and AT

But maybe something like in speedo - actually I don't know, B4 have different VDO gauges than B3 I'm thinking about, despite they look almost identical. Just do it in time when shop is open and after removing all, go to shop, some missing interior parts will not affect speed of your coupe

Can't see anything about VDO gauges, only speedo and heater controls
