I have a '94 80 2.0E 8 valve with a sport badge on the boot and also Sport in the tax book, it doesn't have sport seats, oil pressure, volt meter..... dials or electric windows and as i say is an 8 valve engine, I don't mind but was just wondering cos I seen a Sport on ebay and it was different to mine. And i've told the Insurance company that it's a sport cos it said so in the tax book, I hate the thought of giving them more money than needed.

I think that by the end of the model life nearly everything became an option, SE models got the dials and seats, sport could just mean you have sport suspension fitted and/or a rear spoiler. If you check your options sticker located in the boot and compare it to the list here: http://igorweb.org/equidec/ you can see what you have.

Yep there were 2 versions of the Sport on the B4 - Sport which was just a 2.0E with Sports suspension, rear boot spoiler, 5 spoke alloys and a four spoke steering wheel but standard seats in the standard upholstery. Not half as nicely kitted out as the B3 sport, then the Sport SE, which added to the above, the sports seats but same standard upholstery, the proper 3 spoke sport leather steering wheel and gear lever knob, electric sunroof, front electric windows and extra instruments in the centre console and radio aerial in the rear screen. I thinks thats everything off the top of my head !
Very late models of the Sport SE didn't have the 3 spoke sport steering wheel because they fitted an airbag for the 95 model year.

Is the Sport badge on the boot lid an Audi badge ??, neither the B3 or B4 Sports had a sport badge as standard on the boot lid or anywhere else. You could fit one off a 90 20V Sport (same style) - I've got a B2 Series 2 one on mine.

I've got a B4 80 Sport, which has a Sport badge on the bootlid, it's not in the same place as yours though, it's where the 2.0E badge should be, so someone has added it. I think the B3 Sports had a Sport badge so it may be from one of those, because it looks the same typeface.
It's got the 8v 2 litre ABK engine, 5 spoke Ronal alloys, alloy rear spoiler and lowered sports suspension as standard, but a standard interior with wind up windows. Are these worth any more than standard 80's? |
