10vt engine code "MC"

I have always thought that my engine code was the "WU" code, especially according to my haynes manual. I was able to this morning verify that my engine clearly isn't the WU code. I was able to remove the rust from the label and underneith the rust read "MC". According to my haynes manual, that engine code does not exist. Is my haynes manual on crack or am I? This is a north american car (5ktq) and north american engine.

It's a version of the mb I think but then again i can be a bit thick at times!

AFAIK the MC was the same as the MB but it had knock sensors
theres a lot of useful info on it here Scott mockerys site

MC = 2226cc turbo 165hp

up to 9/1988 had 1 knock sensor and 7.8:1 cr
10/1998 on had 2 knock sensors and 8.4:1 cr

He knows his stuff, more than PP and my White mb has a SJM ecu in it.....transforms the car further
