There is a 2.2 10v turbo for sale in parts section, also Sam has posted this link... http://www.plasticmedia.net/4ktq/
Anyone done this swap on a B2 80? If so got any advice... can I use my DZ gearbox with the conversion? What are these engines like? |

I asked a similar question a while ago and here is a link to the reply, if its any help to you.
Most seem to be going for the 20v and not the 10v. http://www.classic-audi.co.uk/forum/...ead.php?t=3743 |

2WD Audi 80 Sport I presume? The MC engine is 165bhp as standard (I have a complete 100 turbo car here if you're that interested).
You can get 200bhp out of a 2 litre 16V if you want, and it will be lighter too. And probably easier. And affect the handling less. ABF engine out of a Seat Toledo or something similar. |

The 2.0 16v is the engine that has interested me the most to tell you the truth. That is the one I was looking to upgrade to really. But as there is this complete setup for sale in the sale section, I thought I would make an enquiry here.
ABF you say.. Ok will keep an eye out for one. I presume I need full loom and ECU with this conversion as well. Is there any more technical knowledge about this conversion on a 80 Sport. Am I right in thinking I can use the 16v cylinder head with intake on my exisitng DZ bottom end? |

I used to own a Seat Leon Cupra, I fondly miss the performance of those 180 ponies. As such I would like to boost the paltry output of my weekend toy, a 1988 90 2.2 quattro.
Any thoughts on a suitable engine transplant? How about a 20v 1.8t from an A4. or a 10v turbo or 20v 5cyl turbo? |

I found a Mk3 Golf 16v not too far from my house for sale £200!
It has a bent wishbone and driveshaft, hit a kerb guy wants to get rid of it. May have this by tommorow evening! Have the engine out tommorow night, start rebuilding before the end of the week, and by the weekend start putting it into the B2! Sounds good on paper... ![]() |
