Default ur quattro intake hose.......save money!!!

I have just saved a packet by doing an easy repair to my old and knackered intake hose on my ur. I don't know if anyone else has done this before but its saved me about a hunderd quid or so. My intake hose had split on the outside and was not too good on the inner sleeving so I went to look at the local scrapyard. i needed a pipe with 2.5 inch at one end and 2 inch at the other....simple you might think. After looking about, I found a LDV van with a hose that was a perfect fit at the 2.5 inch end, so I cut it to length, then I cut my old audi hose right down to the reducer sleeve but left the reinforcing wire inside of the sleeve, I then removed 25mm of reinforcing wire in the van hose and found that the end of the van hose fits very snugly indeed over the audi reducing sleeve, a jubilee clip holds the pipe securely in place. I'm well chuffed with it! oh, the pipe cost me 50p

my turbo-inlet manifold pipe blew a while back and as a temp fix, cut it before the bend (or T-piece) and connected one of an 90 degree T-piece off a tranny van, worked a charm ;-)
