Default Breaking santana gl5

I've decided to break my '85 Santana GL5, A rare old car in metallic brown, but taking up space on my drive, and I don't have the time or inclination to restore it. It's really solid with the exception of a 50p size hole in the 'C' Pillar.

Anyway, it's a 5 Cylinder Auto, with 85k gen. miles. Tan interior, Air Con (Rare option), Auto Box (Gearbox knackered or so I was told when I bought it, but i've never driven it, just turned over from time to time)

This model shares a lot of parts with the Audi 80, including engine and box, suspension(?) so the Aircon should also be able to fit too, if that's your thing.

PM me for parts, I have doors, wings, seats etc, engine and aircon. Elec window motors and loads more.

PM me or email Adrianrestoshop@fsmail.net thanks

agreed, would be a shame.I had a silver one, auto also.Loved that car.Bought it for £80 when i was travelling around NZ a couple of years back. The ones that were sold in NZ were assembled by nissan in japan, some of the components on the car had nissan markings which were a strange sight to see.incidently the 20v 7a engine normally found in the audi coupe/90 was an option on santanas from factory over there(i couldnt believe it either)

back on topic

where is the car located?

The Santana was a saloon, so matey was probably offering you a Passat estate and getting confused along the way.

I've agonised over what to do with this badboy for the past year, and have decided its worth more in parts.. It owes me about 200 quid so would be good to see at least some of that back.. Here's pics if anyone's interested..

You'll notice it's badged as a Passat GL5 - This is correct as it was the last year of Santana production and re-badged a 'Passat' when VW dropped the Santana name. You always see a few of these in europe, but extremely rocking horse poo in the UK.

I bought this car because of its rarity and have now realised I just don't have the time to get it done. It is a typical London car and has dents and dings, and I;ve replaced a front wing and rear door which were mullered (not rusty though) The car was originally supplied by Scotts of Sloane Square and I believe it's spent some time in a hot climate, hence the unrusty rear arches and being spec'd with Aircon.

The rear N/S wing has been smacked too, but this didn't phase me either. Mad ? yes probably, but I envisaged a very rare and funky car at the end of it. The colour also appealed to me more than anything.

I would be interested in the rear passenger side door handle(presuming that they are the same as what on a 90??)
