Default Radio -SAFE-??

Just got the RS2 back on the road this week. Had to replace the battery as the old one was mullered and wouldn't hold charge even after trying bat-aid tabs and leaving on charge for 24 hours. Came to stick the radio on and all I get now is the word SAFE on the display.
I presume it needs a pin code or something which I do not have!

anyone have any suggestions apart from replace the radio!
It's the original factory fitted one.

My fave is the 80CD. This is the wifes car though and she doesn't appreciate the sound of a 5 pot motor and a spooling turbo as much as me!

I reckon any decent car stereo place will be able to decode it for you.

like Micky says, give your local Audi dealer a ring, they'll have the original radios details on record- as long as you can prove you own the car .
