Refuse to go to it....

Windows XP 64 bit supports up to 128gb of Ram, Standard XP is 4 gb. I don't know anyone who uses Vista has much in the way of good things to say about it.

Most large companies are sticking with XP as its miles more stable and has better support

Vista is being replaced this year sometime, that tells you how unsucessful its been.

I've got a Mac and a new Windows laptop!

Bought a new Acer laptop off eBay (cheaper than in the shops) and it came with Vista. I hate Vista, it's slow and half of the programs I use aren't supported, so within ten minutes of getting it out of the box I wiped Vista and had XP straight back on there!

I have the Vista Inspirat pack which basically makes it look like Vista without all the slow crap and incompatibility issues! As XP only supports up to 3GB RAM and my laptop has 4GB it has to have a 'Physical Address Extension', meaning it uses it but it's hidden.

XP will beat Vista hands down any day with regards to speed unless you have a serious amount of RAM.

mac mini £499

What do you want it for?

Downstairs I have a 6 year old G4 which is used for graphic design, internet and email. I am now on a 2 year old macbook which is used for internet. Both fast enough.

I have a new iMAC at work with 4GB of RAM...that's fast as f@@k! It's amazing the difference between the speed of Windows compared with Macs, it's unreal!

I use mine for page make-up/design/photoshop/pre-press etc and it's superb at multi-tasking.
