Seller Type : Private
Vehicle Make : Audi
Vehicle Model : 90
Price : £5000
Location : Falkirk, Scotland
Additional Details : V5C (Logbook) ,MOT'd

Welcome to the sale of my 1988 Audi 90 quattro.

It's Satin black - colour code is LY9Y.
Miles are 159k - this may rise but not by much.
MOT is due October 2022
Central locking, 4 electric windows all fully operational
Gearbox rebuild
Sachs performance clutch
headlight wiring upgraded with relays. light output is fantastic
The V5 is in my name
There 2 sets of keys

This is a fairly early B3 90 quattro with 2nd generation suspension. No rear anti roll bar. Up front the drop links are joined to the wishbones. Struts are 2 piece.

Originally a 2.2 KV engine it has been upgraded to 2.6 litre using a different (diesel I suspect) crankshaft and non standard over bored pistons.
The cylinder head was modified to TSR pack C specification which includes oversized valves.
Standard camshaft was retained. Estimated power is around 170-180 bhp.
It also had a gearbox rebuild at the same time.
The work was done by TSR in Bridgwater around 2006/2007.
Capacity is 2584cc and the V5c has been updated to reflect this change. All receipts are available.

I bought the car as a project as it had been off road since 2012.

It's had the following work in my ownership and all done within the last 3500 miles.

Engine

bottom end rebuild - block was stripped and cylinders rehoned. new piston rings, new mains and conrod bearings
cylinder head refurbished with new valve guides
new head gasket, head bolts, manifold gaskets and crankshaft oil seals
new timing belt and water pump.
new HT ignition leads

Exhaust

The exhaust has been upgraded to a 20v system from the cat back with genuine parts

Fuel system

New fuel pump, filter and accumulator
Replacement metering head
Warm up regulator rebuilt to factory specification
Fuel tank removed and cleaned / flushed out and de-rusted
New Bosch fuel injectors + injector seats

Transmission / Running gear

New speed sensor fitted to the gearbox
All 4 wheel bearings replaced with SKF bearings
Rear differential oil seals replaced - left and right sides
New rear differential mounting bush
Ronal 15x6 Aero alloys refurbished
Tyres are Vredestein 205/50VR15

braking system

Master cylinder replaced
brake servo replaced (2nd hand)
Discs / pads replaced front and rear
New brake hoses front and rear
New brake pipes rear + front. Main brake pipe not replaced

Steering

Replacement steering rack fitted (2nd hand)
replacement steering pump (2nd hand)
New power steering pump suction pipe
Track rods, adjusters + track rod ends replaced

Suspension

Gas shocks fitted front (Sachs) and rear (KYB)
Genuine Audi sport springs front and rear
New top mounts
New front wishbones + ball joints
Rear wishbone bushes
Full 4 wheel alignment

Interior

heater matrix replaced
Audi sport 3 spoke steering wheel
Seats changed to black Jacquard satin sport style seats front and rear
New cogs fitted to the speedometer to make it work
Replacement boot lock fitted

Exterior

boot floor repaired
new passenger side wing
bonnet, wings, roof all resprayed due to previous poor respray (pictures available)
New sunroof seal fitted when roof was repaired
New windscreen fitted November 2020

Electrical

New ignition switch
centre console aux gauges - all wired up and working correctly
outside temperature display

What is needed

The headliner needs replaced. Part of it is missing and it sags round the sun visors
There is a small patch of bubbling on the passenger side rear wheel arch where the bumper meets the arch
Passenger side rear door has a long scratch
The sunroof needs fixed when the headliner is done. It doesn't slide back and doesn't close properly when tilted so I keep it closed.

There are receipts from previous owners totalling over £10k.

A very good example of a 10v Audi 90 quattro. The 2.6 litre conversion gives it decent performance and fuel economy is around 26-29 mpg. I've done about 1000 miles on the rebuilt engine with no problems.
Some spares are available which I will include if I get close to my asking price.

Please contact me direct for any questions
I'm not interested in any part exchanges or swaps

Looking for around £5000

What a fantastic job you have done getting this back from the dead. A lovely car for someone and not much more work to do to make it A1.

Cheers Dave. Lets see what happens. I'm in no rush to sell although tax and insurance are due shortly so would be handy to sell before then.

Mike, I am sorely tempted. You have priced it really fairly given all the work you have done, if I had the money I would absolutely be first in the queue.

At the minute mine looks the part and is reliable and useable, but being honest it is due a lot of the more involved work you have lavished on this one to keep it that way. I probably need to have the conversation with myself sooner rather than later, as to whether I have the time, money and inclination to do it, or whether it is a job for someone else after 14 years... You don't fancy a new project do you

I've got one already

I'm also approaching that stage on my 20v. I did lots of work on it 10 years ago and it's nearly ready for needing done all over again.

Thanks for the kind words.

The problem with selling on here is that every member already has at least one Audi.
