I found out last weekend (only after jacking up both Audi's) that the 16" five spokes from my 89 coupe GT have a smaller stud displacement than my 86 quattro. By that I mean the four stud holes are closer to the centre of the wheel than in the quattro.
I had just assumed (stupidly it turns out) that all 4 stud coupe's had the same fitments. My question is, is it common knowledge amongst the rest in the forum here that the wheels from a 1.8 GT won't fit a 2.2 Quattro coupe? I'm guessing it's the difference between 100x4 and 108x4 pcd!?! Also, I don't suppose there's any way around this as the ones from the GT are bot 15's over the quattro's 14's and the tyres are brand spank me new! |

Been there, done it got the badge. After considering changing wheel hubs etc to try and get the right PCD for the wheels i bought I decided it would be cheaper and less hassle to flog the wheels and buy some with the correct PCD.
Don't worry Davy you aren't the first and no doubt won't be the last if it's any consolation |

It does actually act as some consolation, thanks! As it happens the car on which the wheels were meant to come from is now up for sale, so at least people will know there's a good set of alloys and tyres on it!
