Default 'Robbery', the 1967 Film.

Any fans of this great film?
I received my copy on Blu Ray today. It is fantastic. So much detail and colour, it is like being transported back in time.
It is so much better than my old copy on DVD.

Well worth buying.

Haven't seen it for years Ken, had forgotten George Sewell was in it. Played a good part in this too:

George Sewell was class, I am also a big fan of Barry Foster. He is great in Frenzy (1972). There are some absolute gems of British films from this era.
The Squeeze (1977) is another cracker. Villain (1971) another great film.
The Man Who Haunted Himself (1970) is next on my list of Blu Rays to buy.

Some great British movies mentioned here

Hell Drivers is one of my all time favourites

Superb British cast also includes Sid James, William Hartnell, Alfie Bass, Gordon Jackson and a very young Sean Connerry, David McCallum and Jill Ireland

Great stuff

Peter Yates who directed Robbery also directed Bullitt. Hence the brilliant car chase scenes!

One thing I found slightly spooky during my 'trainspotting' days was riding on a train hauled by 40126, the loco that was involved in the Great Train Robbery. It was on the train as the original loco had failed. As it couldn't heat our train and it was a very cold January day, it was removed from the train at Manchester Victoria and replaced with sister Class 40, 40118, the same loco shown in the opening credits to 'Robbery'!
This train subsequently turned out to be 40126's last ever passenger working. It was withdrawn from the fleet due to various defects and promptly cut up.

Villain for me, is possibly of the best from this era. No one else quite like Richard Burton, exceptionally good in this:

'The Medusa Touch' is another on my Blu Ray 'to buy' list.

'Brannigan' (1975) is another favourite of mine. All the Fords in it have similar reg plates to the ones in 'The Sweeney'.
I would love 'Target' with Patrick Mower to be released on DVD/Blu Ray.

I recently bought 'Wolcott' (1981) on Blu Ray. It is great. Another great mini series I bought a while back is 'Out' (1978) with Tom Bell. It is ace.

Can't say I've heard of the last two there Ken, will definitely check them out.

Some of the lesser known films from the seventies:

One of Oliver Reed's greatest roles - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLgL_P5uacA

Dated but nontheless enjoyable car chase from the 1970 cult sci-fi thriller Scream and Scream Again, featuring one of my favourite 70s bad guy actors the late Michael Gothard (also seen in previous clip of The Devils)

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4YAHqXRtu5o

And yes, you've guessed it he gnaws through his own arm to escape at the end
