I have a 90 quattro 7a engine fitted with a tubular manifold, is there any benefit from removing the cat from the exhaust? the join between it and the down pipe has given up again so I'm wondering if I should replace the cat with a flexible joint. Any advice would be welcome.

Yes, but I dunno about using a flexy, I've bought stuff from, and recommend JP exhausts in Macc if you want to make a bypass pipe yourself: http://www.jpexhausts.co.uk/product_...traight%20tube

Was going to use a flexy because the joint I'm having problems with is one with springs on the bolts to allow for movement. Thank for the link Ben
