Interior strip out RR!

Hi Folks,
I need to strip out the interior of my RR to give her a really good clean! I know most of it will be self explanatory but, cars have that habit of having some oddity to remove something! Being rather inexperienced at this I was wondering if there are any manuals that can assist me or anything on line to help!

Obviously, any advice from the forum would be greatly appreciated!

How dirty IS the interior that the whole lot needs to come out!?

In my expience the front carpet was the biggest pita as it's one piece at the front so the whole centre console has to be taken out to remove which means voice synthesiser, vac pipes etc etc all have to be disconnected.

Door and back trims are easy peasy, no hidden screws as such, but be careful with the poppers so as not to break them.

Dash and headlining I've no experience of but I've got replacement ones ready to fit when I find myself bored enough!

Cheers for that! The headlining and door cards are pretty good. It's the front seats and front carpets which are needing a bloody good clean! The leather housing around gear stick etc has a few Nicks in the leather! Nothing serious but, I'd like to get it cleaned really well to see if I can put up with the minor defects or have them professionally repaired?

I don't agree on the door cards. The door pockets got a hidden screw in the middle that is covered by the carpet on the pocket.

Take the seats out , bolt in the front runner then unscrew the rear plastic plugs in the rear runners and remove the plastic cover .... Huff and puff and wiggle and pull out of tracks ( unplug seat heaters too ) clean seats out of car and carpets in situ ( I've got a proper carpet shampooerrrrrrrr Mrs )
Console is a bit more fiddly and long winded

Onto cardboard strips to keep 20 yo black grease off carpets

Just the seats out should be fine.As John says its nothing major.

There is also a small retaining spring once you have undone the allen bolt and remember to disconnect the heated seats. I normally put a towel in the back to rest the runners on.

Be sure to clean all of the grit, sweets and 1p coins out of the runners and replace with new grease. The best I have ever found is £1.51 and a few old betting slips.

Also, the rear seat back can be quite difficult, but just lift from the bottom and it will eventually move and come out as it is retained by a hooking mechanism on either side. If you pull the top of the seat towards you and look down the back, you will see what I mean.

As for the carpets, use a good quality carpet cleaner and something like a Karcher to clean it.

Regarding the seats, I always use Glyptone which is excellent for repairing any nicks in the leather and also for cleaning + reconditioning.

Have you posted any pictures up yet so we can see the before and after?

Cheers guys! I think I will just have the seats out and try giving the leather a really good clean to see how it comes out! Had a read about Gliptone and it seems like the professional use it too!
