What's Poop Worth?

Just a question - How much is a good GT Worth.
Only reason being by the summer she will be looking great and for insurance purposes I will need to re-insure?

Practical Classics in November put a condition 1 coupe at £1850, condition 2 at £800 and condition 3 at £400.

Of course you could get an agreed valuation done here for insurance purposes. I think Coxy is your man for the coupe.

there's a few different values.

What we buy them for.
What we'd like to sell them for.
What we value them at for insurance purposes.

Not saying that we over value our car for insurance, but if you don't have an agreed value on it, they will give you bottom book price which is peanuts.
What they never consider is the time and effort that we as the owners, put into our cars, keeping them as top notch condition as they can be.
Look at Emjays Coupe for example. When he's finished it, it will be superb and will want for nothing (apart from petrol), but if anything happened to it, you can safely say that the insurance company would probably only value it at £1000 tops yet we all know it should be worth double, if not treble that figure.

See thats the thing Im not doing it to make money on her as will never happen, but the insurance people dont understand by the time you have got them where you want them youve done a few grand, but like I said its not about the money. The only thing I would like to do is save a few more but sell them for a descent profit so I can eventualy end up with a UR or RS2. But to do this you must get a descent bit back on the one you have done up. Also when married with kids its a good way to filter money into a project with out the other half knowing so you do get your 300 horses in the end! Whats your thoughts?

it's a case of finding a good one and making it better! They are out there!

If you can buy a decent one for sub £1000, and put a bit of effort into it, then you should be able to make a few bob into the bargain.
Would take a lot to be able to fund an RS2 though!

when i had my early gt5s coupe it had a granteed insurance value of 5k but saying that it was low mileage and mint.
