Default Lack of umph!

Driving the UR home last night, put my foot down for the last stretch of by-pass and well it seemed a bit flat, then again this morning a quick blip passed some road works and it just seemed to go flat about 4000 rpm. Car is starting fine, sounds sweet and running great in all other respects anyone got any ideas where to start?

Thanks Royston.

It's worth doing the vac pipes , one runs from the turbo on a plastic joint up to the bulkhead , mine had a duff splice in it and had rubbed a bit . A couple of others were very suspect too so the lot were done

Checked a couple of the rubber vac pipes and they were falling to bits in between my fingers, so I have replaced a couple with some rubber hose and ordered some silicone tube to replace the whole lot. Checked the connections on the air temp sensor and they just fell off! so I re-soldered as best as I could but I think I'm going change to crimp connections. Took more notice of cars behavior last night, it's normal up to 3000rpm but the stops pulling and flattens off. You can hear the turbo whistle up to that point and then nothing, if you put your foot down you can force the car to rev to about 4500rpm but that's it I will update when silicone hose is fitted.

Seeing a painter today about the roof just in case Andy

Picked some connectors up last week from maplin to put an inline fuse to the aerial, but I didn't have them with me yesterday which is why I re-soldered. B**tch of a job and I wasn't satisfied with the end result so will definitely change for crimps. I will change all the pipes just have to wait until silicone hose turns up.

I am risking damage to the engine continuing to drive it in it's current state?

I doubt it ...... Just won't rev
The solder needs to be high temp stuff and is a Shyte to get a good connection as it stresses a lot down there . I would go through all the braided lines if I was you just for peace of mind ....carefully
