It has been done by some fellow latvian audi enthusiast, who had placed that 7A in a B2 A90q. I don't remember exact details, I don't remember nothing about ignition because it was so long ago I even wasn't 5 pot fan, what I do remember that injectors required some adaptors, the engine pulled strong and also consumed a lot of petrol - owner quoted around 10l/100 km on road and 20l/100 km in city. He finally installed MFI in that car as well, for economy purposes.

Yes, it has been done. I recently broked a 20VCQ which had this setup running. There was just a few differences from the standard. One difference is distributor - it is combined from 20V and KV in one hybrid, second, like msh said the injectors need adaptors, because you use your standard injectors from atmosphere engine. All in all that's it. And yes, ex owner said he had big petrol consumption - lake mode, thirty minutes equals in thirty litres of petrol.
![]() If you need I have that distributor spare and lying around. ![]() |

I just want what it always should have been... Big-bore valver golf with another cylinder. Not a dirty great lazy "emissions friendly" lump that doesent forfill its potential... If a good valver golf can make 150hp, a 7a should be 180hp all day surely... Mind you, it will be a bit numbed with that heavy coupe Q hanging off it...

For potential you should look at VEMS, not K-jet.

Good project, should be kinda easy to set up once you have the spark sorted,
The old quattros had 200bhp on K-jet so should be very feesable. I was in a Mk2 16v golf with a tuned k-jet TSR 1800 lump, chap said it dynoed at nearly 170hp and a few runs around a track I believed him ![]() I love my k-jet, its so feking reliable, after I removed the ISV she behaves what ever the weather. I don't see why it it should be a gas guzler either, all you would need it a adjustable fuel (control) pressure regulator so you can set it to run daily sensible power or weekend toy Ps, get some pic's up ! |
