I have seen plenty of VWs with the "ratlook", i.e. can't be arsed to look after it properly.
But was just wondering whether anyone has any photos of ratlook Audis. I need to do some body repairs to mine, wheel arches etc, but can't afford a full respray (in purple metallic flake with genuine zebra hide seats), so was wondering if I should just do the bits on the body that need doing (to preserve it for longevity) and then in a couple of years, get the paint done properly. Needs to be lowered, on standard 14" alloys or steels with wheel trims, crap roofrack, tat on the back shelf, crap paintwork. Might even paint it with a roller in some matt green NATO paint. http://www.anchorsupplies.com/paint.htm Any thoughts or photos? Steve |

It's pretty much how I run my Saab - washed maybe once a year, no wheel trims, any damage to external trim gets left alone. When I used to commute in the quattro people seemed to assume that I'd move out of their way - now they seem to assume that I won't.

it will be kind of "unintentional" rat look, while I wait until I can afford a respray, but so that the metal is protected so it doesn't get worse.

Ratlook = lazy restorer!!
![]() ![]() That said, some of the genuine rat look VW's that have appeared on the scene over the past few years have looked superb! Just getting bored of them now! |

3 kids and a mortgage mean no respray for a while!
Strange, but no-one has commented on the purple metallic flake colour scheme. |
