Default auto carb or change to manual??

hi there

got the car running today at the garage stripped all the carb down blew all the jets that wasnt the problem of it running!!

it is run off an auto carb water driven with like a coil spring inside the housing so was wondering if its best to scrap that and go manual and put twin webbers on maybe??

all suggestions welcome as am new to the audi scene!!
