Smile Help 80 Quattro

I have found this car in Germany and maybe going to have a look and probably buy. If it's ok.
I have never seen an 80 Quattro which looks a s basic as this one. Does anyone know how many versions there were?
Or is this another version which was only in Germany?
Any comments would be much appreciated

Ony UK quattro's I've seen have been fitted with Ronals.
That one doesn't even have electric windows.

There was a UK car on ebay on steel wheels with the same wheel trims - although not sure if that was what it came with as standard

Just dug out March 1986 issue of Volkswagen Audi car magazine out of my stash and there is a very good article on the 80 quattro.
If I could configure my printer/scanner to work correctly with my mac, I'd scan it in for you.
I'll quote a bit what it says about the trim:
"Trimwise the quattro and the sport are very similar, both having alloy wheels, a rear spolier, sports seats with attractive chequered tweed upholstery, frame-head type head restraints (front seats only), red panel lighting and a leather gear knob.
Like the sport, the quattro has manually operated windows and is not fitted with either foglamps or headlamp washers."

There is one of these parked on a drive in Corsham (near to Castle Coombe). Its an odd pinky, purple colour (metallic) and always looks as though it doesn't move. Same spec as that silver one.

More versions were available in Germany, including lower spec versions which were not sold in the UK. For example there was a very basic spec Ur-q available in Germany that did not even have a rear wiper. The Type 85 CQ had steel wheels as standard too, but in the UK Ronals were made standard.

Any chance you can knock on the door and ask if they'd sell the Quattro.
I've just bought an 1985 80 Sport in white pick it up in 2 weeks. V Excited
Still going to pursue the Quattro in germany only if the man in Corsham obliges and Tarka would be good enough to go and ask a complete stranger if his car is for sale, because someone he has never met might want to buy it. It's a big ASK. I'll leave that one with you!
