Just a quick one,
If I wanted to replace the WR engine in my UR quattro with a KG unit from a 200, and use all the parts from my car ie turbo exhaust, inlet etc, what issues would I come up against? Thanks John |

The KG head has a feed to take inlet manifold air into a gallery behind the injectors. I'm using a KG head on my WR. This is capped off. I think it is normally fed from the middle of the inlet manifold.
On the block, I believe there is a more extensive breather system. Otherwise, top end, most of it is a straight transfer. I think you may be better off using the original WR inlet manifold. If your WR exhaust manifold is viable, it's worth using it, too. I don't know about compression ratio, but somewhere in my head, there is something about piston crowns being different. This is not a major issue though, as the engine will work. TimC's rally monster is KG based.

Thanks for the advice.
I'll be using all the manifolds turbo and other ancillaries from my WR, so it looks like a go-er Searched on some other threads on here and quattroforum, and sump may need to be swapped, but thats not really an issue either. Thanks John Last edited by john bowden; 12-09-13 at 10:37 AM. |
