Default 20v gearbox

Ive been asked if a Audi 90 20v 2wd gearbox will fit a Audi coupe GT or a WR or MB engine. Does anybody know the answer

Default

It will bolt to the engine, not a direct swap though.

GT will use an 016 box, B3 uses an 01a.

Thanks for that not sure what the codes mean? will the flywheel and clutch need to be swapped then?

What is getting fitted to what in what?

016 is the earlier style gearbox urq, type 85 etc, 01A is the later box b3, b4 etc.

Different shifter setup, there are flywheel/clutch differences that people mix and match when fitting a 20v to type 85.

Prop length wont be an issue on fwd, output flanges might be?

ive been told they have got a coupe GT, they are fitting a 10V Turbo (don't know if its a WR or MB) they want to know if a 1991 Audi 90 20v gearbox 2wd will fit.

It can be made to fit, but personally I would just use the existing box. Were they looking for longer ratios?

got no idea, ive got one for sale and just been asked if it fits a GT
