Default Lidl "Nanotechnology" windscreen solution

Put some of this stuff on the windscreen (having tested it over the past 3 months on the Audi), very impressed with it.

Drove 200 miles yesterday in the rain without using the wipers for most of the time. The rain just goes up the windscreen above about 40mph, which is weird.

From Lidl, cost about £5 (enough to do 2 windscreens). Resists washing too.

Will post a video of it in action when I download it off Mrs PD's phone later.

Here's a pic (note streaks are going UP the windscreen):

Wax is different, I found wax makes your wipers squeak and it smears. This is a solvent based solution (it smells really strong) and is designed for the job.

Sounds very similar to 'Rain-X' which has been available since at least the early 1990s. I used it a lot and found that if the car is garaged it only needed to be redone every 3 months. So a small bottle lasted for years. Over 40-50mph the rain just slid off the screen. Great driver safety aid IMO.

There wasn't any sound from B4's wipers Let's say - this stuff is similar, only with very cool name - to attract buyers - "nano"

Yep, Rain-X is the daddy. This nano stuff sounds similar.

I would not recommend wax for the front screen as it tends to "cloud" when the wipers are in use.

Ask me how I know...

Cheers,

Steve

Yup, deffo avoid wax on the front windscreen by all costs!

I use Collinite on my side and rear windows but not on the main screen!
