Question CIS injector,question.(KV engine-K-jet)

Had a dry run on my blue q90,getting an injector out.
Soaked the injector seat with WD40 and had a coffee.Using a brake-line spanner,I twisted it abit and kept soaking it with WD40.Got a pair of long nosed bent pliers and carefully, prised it out.
Got it out and gave it a clean.Looking at the actual injector,it has 2 seals.(1xsmall+1xlarge.)
Is the larger seal surposed to be soft rubber or hard?My was hard, but I don't know if 20 odd years of heat, has hardened it?
I notice the seat, was left in the head. How do you get the seat, out of the head?Haven't done any research(Vagcat.com,down) and I thought it would be good info, for other members on here.
How many seals are there,in all?(Each, seat and injector.)
Want to get this all sorted, before I have ago on my red q90.
Thanks.

I believe they are both supposed to be fairly hard.. not quite rock hard, but hard.. regardless make sure to check the spray on each injector, and if good, then go ahead and just get all new seals.

Hard or soft? Depending on what do you call "hard". It should be just like rubber should be. Of course, because of age they becomes so hard that I can use pliers to remove old ones, as new ones are flexible enough to be fitted over the fat end of the injector.

The one I took out of my blue q90,the large seal was as hard as plastic.
Next time I've got afew days off work,I'm going to do some pressure checks.(Red q90)Only getting about 20-25 mpg on a long run and exhaust stink of fuel.Seems tobe running rich?Want to get to,the bottom of it.
When I do the spray test,I want to renew all injector seals.

Does anyone know how to,get the injector seats out?
I bought an actual Audi repair manual off Ebay and all it says is use a special tool.Is there, away around it?
The later KV engine, the seats just pull out.I think mine maybe threaded?

The seats are a 13mm hex/allen key job. Unusual size. I can't recall if i had a metric allen key bit, imperial or other tool like a sump plug bit.

The o-rings are pennies. Hard = brittle. They might go back in without any bother, but no need to give yourself more work. Replace.

Thumbs up Thanks.

Brother's got a half inch hex set,I can use.
I usually renew all seals,when I do a job.(As you said,pennies.)
I will have to double check, but I think there are 2 seals on the injector and a seal on the injector seat?
When I do the job,I'll add afew pics and explanation,on the end of here.

Question Help.

I think my seats, are the plastic one?I think the metal(screw in) ones, are on the later KV engine?
http://www.034motorsport.com/oec.php...njector+Holder
Do the plasic ones, just pull out?
Also, would a q40000's seals fit a KV engine K-Jet?Are they the same size?
http://www.034motorsport.com/oec.php...ector+Seal+Kit
Thanks.
