Default LCD Display

On the S6 there is a vertical digital display on the dash to show you what gear you are in ( auto remember ) and also the LCD display for the outside temp. Both of these do not light up I suppose due to the crystals being knackered. Having proced these up today from Vagparts they are 88quid and 64 quid respectively. So on the upshot of that can you get LCD's repaired as it looks wrong not illuminated and bugs the hell out of me??

Just stick it in D and drive.

To see how cold it is, open the window!

Posh bugger!

So if taken apart carefully it could be sorted?? As I 'have' to have these lit up!! Sad I know but it drives me mad.

Just be carefull when replacing the gauge/ dash unit as the cables need to be placed back in the right space/ hole so that when you come to screw every thing back together the unit sits correctly other wise it will creak and move or at worst case you will struggle to get the 3 screws back in that hold the lower trim piece. Don't bother taking of the Swheel it will slide past just.

Yeah have already taken dash out and had a peep. Easy job to get at...dash is about a yard long!! Will have another look and follow the procedure on the S2 forum. I should think that the gear selector display is probably the same to.
