Default Spare 7A head

As per title, but minus camshafts and bearing caps - according to Tony and a few others it's only good as a spare. Includes all valves and tappets.

Without the bearing caps its basically scrap.... Caps are machined with the head so can only be fitted to that head. Could be useful as a testbed or desk ornament though

I thought bearing caps were transferrable? i.e. if you cracked your head you could put the bearing caps from it onto this one

Not likely.
Although on Emjays WN (10valve) head we found the bearing caps we needed were a direct fit, no issues with bore diameter and lineup/oil clearances etc, i think that we were somewhat lucky in having caps that fitted without alteration.

The tolerances need to be pretty exact and the risk of cam wear/interference is high. The cost of modification/re-engineering caps to fit would outweigh the cost of a complete head. Not wanting to piss on your chips, just wanted it to be clarified to save disappointment or problems post sale.

I'll send you a PM as I may need a 7A head for test purposes so saves me killing one of my good spares.
