Default Audi 80 Cd Auto
Seller Type : Private
Vehicle Make : Audi
Vehicle Model : Audi 80 1.9 5 Cylinder Auto
Price : £675
Location : Hants / Sussex
Additional Details : V5C (Logbook),Taxed,MOT'd

This is the Audi 80 I bought off ebay a few months ago. It's the 1.9 carb version (engine code WN).

I love it, I know there aren't many left and that's why I bought it. But I don't need it. I use the BMW as an everyday car, and I've also just bought the H reg Audi 100. I've got a jag somewhere as well, but I haven't seen it for a few weeks since I lent it to one of my sisters "for a couple of days" while her car was being repaired. No doubt it will turn up soon when the MOT runs out.

Since I've had the Audi 80, I've done a few little jobs on it. I adjusted the timing because it wasn't set quite right. I've had a couple of new tyres put on it as two of them looked a bit old. Also, I've fitted a period stereo. It's a Harry Moss radio cassette player. (Harry Moss later became Audioline). I had the alternator rebuilt (cost about £40) because the diodes were faulty and it was draining the battery.

I hardly use this car. I start it up every couple of weeks, take it for a drive and really enjoy it. I see people look at it when it goes past. It's great fun to drive, but it's also a shame for it to just sit there the rest of the time, doing nothing.

It's got tax and MOT until October sometime (I'll check the paperwork and confirm this if anyone's interested).

I was thinking about this the other night and promised myself I'd put it on ebay. It's not on there yet, as I thought I'd mention it here first in case any members fancy it.

I've got too many cars, so please don't offer me a px.

Yes, I saw this car on e-Bay (twice - Jan 07 & Oct 07) and was tempted. Tempted now, but I've too many incl an Auto CD, but with the FI (JS) engine. I've incl the first pic I saw of your car after it had been found in a garage & not used in a long time. It is still low mileage I guess. Hope you don't mind me passing comment, even though I'm not buying! Best of luck with sale. Glen.

No problem. Thanks for the info and picture. Have you got any more pics of it apart from the second ebay listing when I bought it ? Did it sell on ebay the first time, and if so, how much for ?
If you know or remember the story about it being found in a garage and not used, I'd love to know more.

Hi, I don’t think it sold the first time: I think it was reserved at around £700?? Can’t remember too much else, but it was definitely laid up for a number of years. Can’t remember either where it was originally, but as you’ll see from jpg’s it turned up in Hants during Oct & then Sussex in Dec. Re low mileage: I may be getting it confused with one a dealer has (Bailey’s Classics). That one had done 39k when it was put on e-Bay in Feb in the West Mids. with a buy it now price of £675, would have been a good one to snap up. I’ve added a photo of that too. Sorry can’t help with any further info on yours. Cheers. Glen.

UPDATE

As predicted, the jag has now run out of MOT and is back. Which is a bit of a pain in the gregory as it means there isn't space for all of them (BMW, Audi 80, Audi 100 and Jag).

So, I'm now open to sensible offers for the Audi 80.

** I'll be selling the jag too once I've got a new MOT on it if anyone's interested in a cheap late XJ40 3.2s
*** I want to get down to just 2 cars again. Any more is too many and it's a waste of cars and money having them all.
