hi,, anyone know how to go about testing a thermostat switch??

1985 audi 90 ,rad . needle wont rise and red light fashing and water wont circulate

did you fill the rad up from the top hose or the tank ?

the way to test the temp gauge is to earth the wire and it should go all the way to the top .
does yours have a gauge or just the lights ? |

when does the light come on ? is it straight away when you turn on the key .i am not sure about these systems weather it goes out after a wile or comes on when to hot

just unplug the switch on the rad and see if the light goes out . i am sure if you connect both wires together the fan should run permantly .
is it overheating at all .it does sound like a faulty switch tbh . |
