Default Injector Cooling Fan stuck on :-(

Hi

The injector cooling fan is permanently on.The engines a 2144 KG unit on an 84 200 Turbo.

The only thing I can do at the moment is unplug it.

What have others here done to fix this problem??

I've had the rocker cover off today, involving removing things etc but Im sure alls back as it was.

I mean,I know its hot at the moment, but not that bloody hot!!

Plug it back in , see if it carries on. Mine did it once and was running for hours, I disconnected it then reconnected it and itsbeen fine since, tripping in as usual

In all fairness Steve, you'll be hard pressed to tell it's disconnected. I'd suggest you just do what you probably already do, and that's not to Caine it on the last couple of miles and let the old girl idle for a couple of minutes before shutdown. This'll help take some of the heat out of the exhaust manifold and reduce fuel vapourisation. And check the sensor, ISTR it's up by the wastegate.

edit.... Blast.... Briggers has beaten me....

Ah! Briggus went into 0800-Brigassist mode and rang me while I was up the woods with Hobley.

I was trying to sound grateful while my lighter had decided to pack up.
Cheers John, got back to the car once he'd done a poo and disconnected the bloody thing.
All my pipes are connected sturdily with regards to being a bit down on performance.

I may have to pay a Gas ANALyzer friend a visit.
What is the c.o setting for a KG?
Its idling really well.I set the idle this afternoon and just needed mild tweakage.

I ragged it on the way back ,using 2nd gear holdus on the old Box of Slush and she is rather urgent.I think its the humidity which is making her feel a little slower today.Oh,and the fact that the fuel pump is on the way ooot!
