This is a bit of a tentative one.
I bought this car a couple of months ago now, it was intended to possibly replace my T.89 90 20v but a mixture of falling in love with the car all over again and most vitally losing the space I need to keep both makes me consider selling this one. The car itself was bought as a rough T.85 90 quattro, 1986, 2.2 10v engine. It looked terrible when I got it, there were rust scabs everywhere, the exhaust was in 3 pieces, some animal had ripped the wiper stalk off etc. Making it sound good eh! On getting it home and giving it a good going over a bit of a rough diamond appeared, most of the rust turned out to be light surface scrubbing off with a dronco disc, I bought a new stainless exhaust, wiper switch, mirror. Currently the car sits needing finishing off, I keep doing bits too it and propose the following. All welding (I think only one small area needed but I'll check the car over thoroughly) done, painted, original wheels fitted (Ronal R8s, just in the process of refurbing them) and the nearly new tyres swapping over from the god awful 14" aeros currently fitted. Mirror, stalk, new handles, exhaust etc. All fitted up. Basically leaving the jobs of diff mounts to do and a good check over for MOT. I will also send off for new v5 in the new owners name. I will of course get some pics and more in depth descriptions put up, the situation really is this needs to either move to a new home or go in to long term storage as a future toy for my by the end of July at the latest. I would actually sooner see it go to a new home and not have the worry of another car abandoned on a friends farm somewhere!! I'm open to sensible offers, I know what its worth done, and also what I paid for the car and bits, I'm happy to meet somewhere in the middle considering the really hard work will have been done (welding and painting) leaving basic mechanical work (diff mounts (buy them and I'll fit them) and MOT check over. For the right deal I could consider throwing it through the MOT even just leaving it ready for you to tax and drive off. Seriously make me an offer and lets talk, I wont sell the car to break it's far too good, the price will make it unrealistic to break anyway. |
