When I start the car up when cold or if its been running, she only fires up on 4 cyl then 2/3 seconds later cyl 5 kicks in. Any ideas?

Thumbs up injectors

Ditto those comments, you have a poor sealing injector. If high mileage it would be worth changing all 5 whilst you are at it plus the seals.

Replace, replace and again replace It's so cheap, isn't it?

Most of all "cleaning" additives are crap, and real cleaning is what does the job. In case of nozzles - nozzles can be cleaned with ultrasound

And, after all - simpliest way how to check is by removing all nozzles, lifting air meter flap upvards, and then ask someone to crank the engine, while targeting nozzles to safe point In action there is big difference between bad and good ones

Of course, if u have so much money, install brend new set Btw, how does cost one brend new Bosch nozzle?

An old diesel mechanic friend told me you can clean them by lightly tapping them with a very small hammer while the engine is running. I had limited success with this on a BMW once.

Cost of new injectors from GSF not expensive for these engines compared to my 20Vt at £35ea, and if this is confirmed as the issue then bite the bullet. Better than wasting time and money trying to keep the 20 year old ones going a bit longer unless you are trying to get it sorted to sell it...
