Default Webspace Advertising Help!

We’ve just set up a second business, which is primarily run by my wife, but I’ve been instrumental in setting up the Valley Gemstones online shop. Promotionally, we need to kick off the marketing, but online advertising (click-per-view etc) is something I’ve had no experience of. I’ve looked at Google Adword, and several other similar packages but I feel there’s got to be better methods or packages of promoting on line. I know some of you guys are far better versed at this than me so any sensible help and guidance will be gratefully received.
Many thanks in advance,
Ian.

set up an ebay account called Valleygemstones and advertise some things on there and then have links to your own website through there. Ebay are funny about having links on ads but if you have a shop called ValleyGemstones and have pics with the watermark having your web url embedded into it, you should get a fair few redirects that way.
That's another avenue to look in to for getting traffic on to your website anyway!

Ah, that's a good one, Andrea's set up an ebay valleygemstones account and advertised a couple of bits, but we'd clocked the URL warnings, so left it out. Not thinking about popping it on the images... Like that...
