Default Ronal Love

They have finally arrived! WAHOOOOOO. Just got back from mountain climbing in New Hampshire to find these beauties waiting for me at work.

Thank you to every one of you who aided me in this quest.

Time to go tire shopping, they need skins.

The snow, which I love to play in, is killing me. The Coupe is still sporting studded snow tires on steelies.

I want to mount these on the car so bad I can taste it. Got at least another month tho'.

I was considering Kumho (Sp.?) tires, based on a friends recommendation. Toyo's seem ubiquitous here but I'm told they don't have good tread life. Any thoughts?

my current set of T1R have lasted 14000 miles so far, fronts are more worn than rears, 2004 1.8T quattro S Line, 1545 kilos ( heavy) and I do test the quattro drive !
I reckon I'll get another couple of thousand out of them but the tyre shop did warn me that I wouldn't get the 19k I had out of the factory PZeros however the grip is much better and I'll always sacrifice life for grip.

I was a Bridgestone man for years, then the Comp/TA's started to be less Comp and more "domestically" friendly. Michelins can be great but are frightfully expensive. Pirelis grip like denture adhesive but last about as long. Winter tires I love Gislaveds and Hok's.

So, today we've gone from a fresh foot of snow on monday to 60 degrees F.

Had to really see how the deep dish Ronals would look on the GT.

Dropped the front snow off, rinse, lift, replace with Ronal, check colored center cap vs. black hexed Audi center.

Clearly the ride height is embarassing so, I sat on the hood enough to drop 25-30mm off the front. Looks about perfect.

Now I gotta find lowering springs to equal this range. I'm open to suggestions for the 1983 non-Quattro Coupe.

Had to put the snow back on. More "weather" on mon-tues. :mad
