The subject popped up again in the paper today.....
Apparently, the emissions targets we were signed up to can only be achieved if all gas central heating, petrol/diesel engines and gas cookers are abolished by 2040...but the powers that be haven't yet figured out how to give us the good news. Meanwhile the rest of the planet isn't bothering... Since the price of petrol has dropped the environmental lobby seems to be in a panic. I remember being taught about the new theory of global warming at school and how, if nothing were done immediately, great chunks of the world's coastline would be submerged in 30 years. Well, it's 30 years later and I'm still waiting to see the incontrovertible evidence.... ![]() |

icecaps, ozone etc, Its all pretty much scaremongering , in fact the last report said the ozone hole had all but disappeared. What isn't is how the rain forests are being destroyd that provide a large amount of the earths oxygen
![]() As to fuel price its still far higher than it should be, the last time oil was at $57 barrel, petrol was under a £1a litre, Taking into account inflation and additional tax it should still be around £1.05 litre for normal unleaded. ![]()
