Hi all,
Just trying to put finishing touches to my 1987 C3 Avant's conversion from self levelling to standard rear suspension. Got all new shocks and springs from KYB and fitted them only for my car's rear end to now be about 4 inches too high. It looks like some weird Hot Rod now. What's happened? All the bits are for a standard Avant, so I don't get why it's not sitting properly. Any ideas? I was thinking of cutting down the new springs to the desirable height... ![]() I |

The springs must have one turn too many or something if it's that high, photos are a must! It might have been sitting too low to begin with. It will settle a little but not four inches. Would never cut a spring.

Hi chaps,
Everything is okay now. I wasn't confident about tackling the springs so when my mechanic said he could do it at short notice I jumped at the chance and nipped it round to him asap, so I apologize for no pics as I didn't take the opportunity to snap a few. Anyway, it was embarrassing to behold. You were right, he just took off about one turn of the coils and now it sits beautifully and feels quite good to drive. Thank heavens for small mercies! Thanks for your input fellas. |

Sure you bought the right springs? You'd think they should have been the right size in the first place.
Hello jingo! What car ye got? |
