Default skoosh jets UrS4

my headlight washers are dead, no sound of the pump and when I pull out the nozzles with the lights on I still dont get anything when the stalk is pulled back.!!

cant find a separate fuse so suspect its the pump.
Anyone have a spare please?

hi Amanda, it doesnt have a button as such, simply pull the stalk to you...... tell you what though I would like to make a mod to only wash the windscreen and NOT the lights every time I wash the screen, goes through washer fluid as if its going out of fashion.
newer cars only wash the lights after a few screen washes have been done

I've had a couple of problems with this on my 200's. Have you tested for a 12v supply at the pump? That will confirm the pump being the problem. On my 200 there is a separate pump for the screen which you can service - I surpose the UR just has one sealed unit?

C'mon guys - theese pumps [at last the one which is for windscreen] are "immortal" Last year I got "dead" pump 2 times - first was in winter, there was just little bit of water frozen in pump, after defrost it worked well, second in summer, this time there was no contact, fixed this while staying at supermarket's parking lot.

Check 12v supply, and also check pump - with two wires and your battery- if your battery isn't in engine compartment, get the voltage, for example, from headlight[by disconnecting bult].

Okay - so it is the same as the 200 - I guess it would have to have two pumps logically! In that case the screen pump comes apart very easily with I think a 6 or 7mm spanner - it will be the two cogs for sure - clean them and reassemble - it should work again.

The one on my quattie had just burnt out, so I ditch the wash system, and the jets, oh and the compete bumper system aswel but that might just be a bit drastic for some of you

I re-plumbed my old GT to give the piddly screenwasher pump to the passenger side of the screen and the industrial headlamp pump to the drivers side.

It would dump about 2 gallons a minute on the screen... And I'm not joking. Brilliant if you've got a 'knob' glued up your backside.
