Question A4 TDi Tuning Advice

At the risk of bring boo'd off , i'm aware that an A4 is no classic which is why i have posted a thread in this section. I also have a urq with a 20v transplant, this just happens to be one of my other cars and i know a few of you must have ran or still run these too.

I just want to get it to breath a bit better. A re-map is on the cards, but not before a few small adjustments. I have already replaced the cat with a larger bore stainless de-cat pipe, and i have replaced the air filter with a Pipercross panel filter. An EGR blanking plate is on the way and the rest of the exhaust is scheduled for next month.

Besides changing the turbo (which i would for a slightly larger one), what else can one do without going silly? Its an A4 (B5) 1.9TDi quattro with an AFN. Any support gratefully received, even if its $od off to "X" forum and ask them!

Regards.....

bigger injector nozzles will give a good increase allround including mpg especially if your own are original.once repmapped expect to replace the clutch as they arent exactly over engineered on the b5,a vr6 clutch is a common replacement.www.tdiclub.com has boat loads of usefull threads

I had my AFN up to 150bhp and 245Lb/ft with european 130 injectors and digital tuning box.
If you want info on the tuning capability of the AFN you should talk to Simon Cooper of Central VW Audi in Ellesmere Port. He decided to test to destruction the 1.9TDi in his Mk2 Golf and got a reliable 350+Lb/ft before his next stage of tune confirmed what he thought as it bent the rods. http://www.centralvwaudi.com/aboutus.htm

I may sound like a heretic, but try the 'mkIV's forum for VW Golfs; invaluable advice, n my wife used it when she wanted to upgrade her mk4 GT TDi 150.
