Default Audi 80 B4 mileometer not working

Probably not electrical, but the mileometer (trip and odometer) don't work.

Common problem.

Easy fix?

take the clocks out and spray electrical contact spray on the connections, or slap the top of the dash hard, is it a tdi or petrol?

Nothing of the above will work Sorry pimp, it's common problem but there's no easy fix In these speedometers there's several plastic gears and one of them - the smallest one, of course, is prone to break one tooth. Solution - instrument cluster replacement [I guess most common fix here], just speedo clock replacement or, if there's spare gear [and I guess you don't have one] available, it's possible to change it, but it's troublesome, because arrow usually can't be removed - I've done this twice - fixed one B3's odometer with gear from my former speedometer [it's electronics malfunctioned], and one B4 - with gear from C3 "new" speedometer - luckily that small gear was identical, because everything else was not And in order to fix that B4 odometer, I had to cut off one not very needed mount with hot knife because otherwise it wasn't possible to open it enough...
