Default Audi Coupe 2.0 8v For Spares/repairs
Seller Type : Private
Vehicle Make : Audi
Vehicle Model : Coupe 2.0 8V
Price : £200.00
Location : Gillingham, Dorset (SP8 4FL)
Additional Details : V5C (Logbook)
On Ebay : Ebay Link

Having wasted my time on ebay and useless buyers (6 times it's 'sold' and not one person has bothered to show up to collect)

It is being sold for Spares or Repairs.

It is a 1995 Audi Coupe 2.0 (8 valve) with 115bhp. It is an Automatic and done 107k miles.

Alloys are in excellent condition
Tyres are all legal, the 2 rear's being virtually new.
The bodywork is pretty straight, there are some nicks, dings etc and the lacquer is showing through on the bonnet, but no major dents.
There is a broken bit of paint on the offside rear bumper.

The interior is good, the seats are clean and tidy and there are no rips or tears.
All the electrics work fine, so thats electric mirrors, windows & sunroof.
Dials all light up fine and the Radio/Cassette player works
Heater works and blows hot and cold, there is NO airconditioning.

Has a full size alloy spare which is in good (used) condition.

Since owning the car I've replaced:

Locking wheel nuts
Brand new Car Mats
New Air filter
Replaced Rocker Gasket - which has cured the engine leak!
Replacement Jack and Tyre Brace (the one in the car was a ford one and didn't even fit the wheel nuts....)
Replacement Car Manual

I also have replaced Power Steering Pump belt and Alternator Belt.

Additional photos are available here: http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/spudders22/audicoupe

The Gearbox is currently in 'Fault Mode' - this is a feature should the gearbox develop a fault. The car is driveable and you still have reverse and forward gears. However, in 'Drive' the gearbox is in 3rd gear only.

The car was previously a Cat C insurance claim in 2005. It has been fixed and it's only when the replacement V5 appeared did I find this out. I believe it was rear ended, as the rear bumper has been replaced. It has passed all it's MOT's since then with only minor advisories...e.g. brake disc replacements.

Engine was previously running well, although with lack of use and cold weather, it's started missing a bit. I think it just needs some tlc.

Unfortunately, a new job and lack of time and a wife running out of patience means it needs to go!!

Am genuinely shocked that it's been so difficult to shift...

For 200 quid surely there is some money in the bank to 'invest' to get it home. Looks a rare colour too.

Me thinks that there is three problems prohibiting the sale of:

1/ Location - to get the car transported anywhere is going cost a fortune, more than the £200 asked for the car......

2/ Its a Cat C insurance job... yes its been fixed, but that still deters people...

3/ The biggest fault of all - its an automatic with a gearbox fault, minimum cost to rectify will be around the £400 notes plus... a total rebuild for the box is going to be around the £1500 mark.. and that's a mediocre bodge...getting a low miler secondhand box would prove difficult and then there's ascertaining its condition...

Unfortunately the car's prognosis doesn't look too clever.......

That's one way of looking at it, the flipside is, if you needed a set of tyres for one you could weigh it for about £150, take the wheels home, and still be on a winner, and that's before you think of any other useful parts it could yeild if you have a similar car.

Well, since it's on ebay and now passed the £200 mark, I'd be a bit daft to sell it privately...

Having said that....I've been here previously, so I await with baited breath.

I did find a 2nd hand box from a (I think) reputable dealer for £150 shipped, so it might not be as bad as you think.

I agree with all the above comments..... sadly, I was a div for buying it from a seller that was completely dishonest with his lack of information...i.e. I didn't know it was a cat c etc..

It's not a heap by any stretch, but it does need some tlc. I would break it, but I simply don't have the time....

Hey ho!
