Default V6 cambelt tools?

Hey folks,

I'm gona do a cambelt change on the 80 quattro and could do with the camshaft and crank locking tools. I know online it's around £100 for the set, but considering the amount I have to spend on the cambelt kit, water pump and all the service items plus new brake pads and discs allround, I'm not sure I could stretch to the price for the said tools.

Does anyone know of a company where you could rent the tools or is there anyone on here that would be ever so kind to let out the tools to me, i'm happy to pay for renting of them plus postage.

If anyone could help that'll be great!

regards

Jay

Default .

You dont actually need them.
Just mark the pulley wheels.
If anything moves you can then just move it back lining the marks up.

Worked fine on my 2.6

Heya bud, thats not a bad plan as i've done that also many times.............but i'm thinking about replacing the cam and crank oil seals..........i don't know wether I need to or not as there is no oil leaking from them and they don't look too bad..........the car has only done 100,000miles but not sure wether it matters

Either way.....aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrgggghhhhhh Decisions
