Bentley Boys S3 Hot Rod Bentley --?

read today that Bentley Boys are planning to make about 3 of these. All of them use the floorpan of a 1960's S3 Bentley then add a 4.4 V8 lump from a BMW, and cost £70k which in real terms ain't too bad!

So who'd own one and who'd drive it???

For £70k it is cheap...in that any car that is essentially a craftsman made kit car is cheap and you are willing to live with all those little quirks, like dubious electrics, that makes owning the likes of a TVR entertaining. But it does seem to be a sad end for an S3 and surely, a hot rod should be all about making a silk purse out of a sow's ear, rather than turning a classic into something it isn't. Or at least making a fast but unreliable, dangerous, ill finished, poorly painted sow's ear out of a sow's ear :-) ?

I wonder if Boyd Coddington was aware of this car before he went to the large alloy in the sky?

I can imagine a rock star owning one,a zany chap.Perhaps Jools Holland will order one.Mind you I know for sure he always orders 2 of his Bentleys at a time.Perhaps he'll have 2!
