The above sounds like you hate them and their owners?!
The reason their prices are on the up is because they were so popular back in the day as they were affordable to the masses, so now for nostalgic reasons people who had one(or Dad or Grandad had one) now want one.
Compare it to Audi whose cars weren't all that common here 40/50 years ago so they don't have as much of a following.
